The Heart Behind It All

April 24th, 2026

Across City Mission, Martha’s Home, and Transformations, there is one thing that remains constant:

People who choose to show up.

Our volunteers.

They serve in different spaces.
They meet different needs.
They encounter different stories.

But the heart behind it all is the same.

They care.

This week, we want to take a moment to pause and say something that cannot be said enough:

Thank you.

Because of our volunteers, meals are served with dignity.
Homes are filled with encouragement.
Programs are strengthened with support and consistency.

At City Mission, volunteers create connection in everyday moments—serving meals, offering conversation, and reminding individuals they are not alone.

At Martha’s Home, they help create a space of peace, stability, and care for women and children walking through difficult seasons.

At Transformations, they walk alongside individuals on the journey of growth and life change—offering support, accountability, and encouragement.

Different places. Same impact.

It’s often found in the small things:

A smile at the right time.
A conversation that brings hope.
A presence that says, “You matter.”

These moments may not always be seen by others, but they are deeply felt by those experiencing them.

This week, we were reminded that sometimes the most powerful thing a person can do… is simply be present.

To sit.
To listen.
To serve.

That kind of presence creates something lasting.

Because of our volunteers, these spaces are not just places of service—they are places of connection, healing, and hope.

Your time matters.
Your presence matters.
And the way you serve is making a difference across every part of this mission.

If you are already serving with us—thank you. You are part of something bigger than you may ever fully see.
If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, we would love to welcome you into this work.

Because at the heart of it all… are people who care.
