Devotions with Pastor Kathryn Week 6

June 10th, 2026

THE MESSAGE

Unity is powerful—but it’s often misunderstood.

Scripture tells us:
“Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined.” — Matthew 12:25

Unity does not mean we always agree.
It does not mean we ignore truth.

It means we choose something deeper:

A posture of the heart.

THE TEACHINGS

Unity Requires Intentional Effort

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” — Ephesians 4:3

Unity doesn’t happen by accident—it must be pursued.

Unity Chooses Posture Over Preference

It looks like:

  • Peace over division
  • Grace over offense
  • Humility over pride

Unity Strengthens What God Is Building

Division weakens relationships, families, and communities.
Unity strengthens and stabilizes what God is building.

Unity Requires Maturity

It takes:

  • Patience
  • Forgiveness
  • Intentionality

Unity is not passive—it is practiced daily.

Unity Pursues Truth with Love

Unity is not ignoring truth.
It is choosing to walk in truth with humility and grace.

THE TAKEAWAY

Unity is a choice.

Sometimes it looks like:

  • Letting go of offense
  • Extending grace
  • Choosing not to prove your point

Unity isn’t always easy—
but it is always powerful.

PRAYER

Lord, help me to choose unity in my relationships. Give me a heart of humility, patience, and grace. Teach me to pursue peace and reflect Your love in the way I respond to others. Amen.
