The reStart Program is designed to assist our guests in their path out of homelessness by focusing on Skills, Training, Abilities, Relationships, and Testimony. The effectiveness of the program is greatly dependent on the dedication of each individual. Our Advocates meet with guests to create a plan to define their goals, schedule service hours, and outline Mission expectations. Whether they are work ready and simply need time to save money and pay off debt, or are struggling with addiction or mental health issues, the reStart program is tailored to their specific needs.
SKILLS
Education Center Classes are aimed at teaching basic Life Skills such as budgeting, safety in the home, tenant-landlord relations, stress management, health & hygiene, and life-changing Biblical principles. |
TRAINING
Service assignments are assigned to teach accountability, encourage self-achievement, build employable skills, and foster a sense of community at the City Mission. The following tasks are examples of Service Assignments:

ABILITIES
Each guest who participates in the reSTART program is given the chance to showcase personal abilities through taking leadership of Service Assignments, leading class discussion, and participating in outside agency courses. Recognizing personal strengths and abilities is a determining factor in long-term success. |
RELATIONSHIPS
Guests are encouraged to seek healthy relationships with others and mend broken family ties. Many guests have completely broken the trust of family members because of drug use, theft, or untreated mental illness. The first step in long-term success is to build a community of support through strong relationships including a home church. |
TESTIMONY
We believe that a relationship with Jesus Christ can change lives, heal brokenness, and give hope for a better future. We encourage guests to pursue personal relationships with God and find fulfillment and peace in His promises and provide them with an intensive Biblical course through Knights of the 21st Century to begin this process of finding your identity in Christ. |
