VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Kitchen Meal Service.
Assist Mission staff, serve the meal to residents, and community guests, and clean up the kitchen/dining room area.
Daily (Monday – Saturday) – lunch 4 to 6 volunteers 10:30-1:00 regularly.
Daily (Monday – Saturday) - dinner minimum of 4 volunteers, maximum of 6 volunteers 3:30/4:00-6:30 pm group or individuals; regularly or one-time; special occasion group.
Have option of preparing meal for the residents if person/group desires.
** We do ask that children be at least 13 years of age to help in the kitchen with the direct supervision of a parent.
Receive, weigh, and shelve donated food items.
Sweeping, mopping, wiping down all surfaces in the two community guest rooms.
Deep Cleaning Service.
Wiping down walls, floors, baseboards, doors, door knobs, light switches, window sills, etc. in hallways and common areas.
Who Can Volunteer?
Singles, Married Couples, Families, Children 13+ with direct adult supervision (in our Distribution Center), Children 16+ with direct adult supervision (in our Kitchen), Youth Groups, Church Small Groups, Groups of Friends, College Age Adults/Groups.
How Often Does a Volunteer Work?
As often as your schedule permits: one-time event, weekly, monthly, on-call basis, special event assistance.
What Jobs Can I Volunteer For?
Kitchen Help, Office Help, Donation Sorting, Maintenance Jobs, Cleaning, Facilitate Class/Discussion in Day Center, Special Event Planning/Coordinating.
What Requirements Are There to Volunteer?
We only require a heart to serve God & others. If you have a special skill, we try to put it to use!
