At the City Mission the men’s program is called the New Life Directions Program (NLDP).  It is comprised of three phases:

Phase 1

Transformation

The Transformation Phase is a six month discipleship program that seeks to address root causes for addiction  through a Biblical approach.  In this program, up to six men are challenged through a structured daily schedule.  This schedule includes Bible studies, classes, and house chores.  This program is based upon Romans 12:1-2.  In this portion of the program, it is our simple goal to see men build their lives upon a solid foundation of Christ.

Phase 2

The Transitions

Phase 2 is the training phase of the NLDP.  In the Transitions Phase of the program men will be given the opportunity  to continue to build upon their solid foundation.  It is in Phase 2 that an individual begins to look for work. Through vocational training, men are given the opportunity to prepare for job placement. This portion of the program is very pivotal for an individual as he begins work and starts to save money.

Phase 3

The Transplant

The Transplant Program is the final stage of the NLDP.  It is the “searching phase” where an individual continues to save money while he searches for a safe place to transition.  We also work to refer men to appropriate agencies.  In this phase, we stress to program men the importance of applying their new life skills.  We want a person to  build upon the foundation they received at the City Mission.

This NLDP gives men the opportunity live at the Mission while working through these three phases.  We provide food, shelter, and referrals to other agencies.  For information about this program please contact Dewey Harris, Program Director.
