EXTREME MAKEOVER 2008
Project Overview
The Extreme Makeover 2008
really began last summer as the Directors of the City Mission, Jim and Linda
Davison, moved their home from the front of the City Mission (first floor
house) to private living quarters at another location. This opened up two
bedrooms, a den, a kitchen, and living room/dining room to be converted into
all-important program and office space.
This spring, three groups
adopted the rooms that were in need of renovation. Cooper Tire and Rubber
employees, led by Maria Smithers adopted the mentoring room, 1st
Presbyterian Church led by Dr. Richard Deerhake adopted two office spaces,
and the Westover Church of Greensboro, NC, adopted the chapel and classroom. We are
excited to see the wonderful progress being made. Project completion is
scheduled for the end of the summer. We are incredibly thankful for all of
the people who have participated in the renovation work.
