In 2010 City Mission had an overall success rate of 47%!
Of the 108 women and children staying at the Mission during 2010, 54 transitioned from the Mission successfully.
Of the 188 individual men staying at the Mission during 2010, 96 made a successful transition back into the community through working and saving their money while staying at the Mission.
During calendar year 2010, The City Mission provided 9,301 nights of housing to men, women, and families. In addition 33,393 meals were served to the residents and "drop-in" guests who were not staying at the Mission, but came for meals. On weekdays surplus food items were availible for drop-ins to take home. In addition a total of 542 take home food baskets were also provided once a month to these drop-in guests and non-residents during 2010. The "served" meals provided at the Mission and the food baskets of groceries are prepared from canned goods, perishables and meats donated to the Mission from the local community.
Once a month drop-ins could also recieve a hygiene pack of personal care products. The items for these packs were donated by the local community. Both the food baskets and hygiene packs were assembled by Mission volunteers.
Individual checking into the Mission work with an assigned case manager to develop a program and set goals designed to assist them to make a successful transition back into the community. The increasing nembers of homeless women and families were reflected at the Mission in 2010 as the bed capacity for women and families was almost 100% for much of the year and over 100% when it was necessary to put up extra cots to meet the need.
